Christmas decoration

I thought I would make something other than a Christmas card today.

I have covered this MDF heart with a napkin from Anna Marie.

I added satin ribbon to hang the heart. I printed a personalised sentiment and die cut it with a Tonic die from a nesting set. I used the next size in the set to cut a dark blue rectangle to mount the sentiment before adding it to my project. I added snowflakes that I cut with a punch then completed my creation with gems on the snowflakes.

Book Christmas Card

I have made this card using a Tattered Lace die set.

I have cut 5 layers alternating red and white. With the smallest die I have cut the page from a Little Hunkydory book to fit the one side of smallest layer. I added red and gold satin ribbon down the centre of my card and attached a bow at the top. I die cut the sentiment with a Sue Wilson die and added it to the shapes cut with Spellbinders dies. I added this to my book. I die cut the poinsettia with Tattered Lace dies, after assembling them I completed them with flat backed pearls. I attached these to my card with the holly flourishes cut with a Cheery Lynn die. I die cut the stand numerous times in red and white card to make it sturdy.

Wedding Anniversary Exploding Box

I have used cream card to make the exploding box layers. The first layer is 28.5cm by 28.5cm. I scored the card at 9.5cm and 19cm on both sides resulting in 9 squares. Cut the corner off each side leaving a +.

I used the same technique for the next layer. This layer is 24cm by 24cm. I scored this layer at 8cm and 16cm on both sides. I cut the corner off each side leaving a +

I did exactly the same for the next layer measuring 18cmx18cm. I scored at 6cm and 12cm on both sides making 9 squares measuring 6x6cm. I cut the corners off again.

I made the lid using a 14cmx14cm piece of card. I scored each side at 2cm. I cut a slit in each corner of the box and stuck them together with P.V.A.

I printed personalised sentiments and wedding venue and used die cuts. I used colours that were the wedding colour scheme.

For embellishing I used the following:
Xcut -Corner Punch, Memories, I Love You, With love
Fiskars - heart punch
Presscut - Ovals
The Works - Circles, Shape on side of box, Love
Tonic - Sent from the heart, Just for you

I used ribbon and lace to embellish the box and added a teddy with hot glue.

Birthday Exploding Box

This is my Guest Designer post for the Birthday challenge over at scrapping4fun

I have made an exploding box using the dimensions that are on the tutorial page of my blog.

I have made the lid slightly deeper because the unicorn is slightly taller than the box sides.

I have matt and layered all the panels with turquoise glitter card and then white embossed card. I used a Tattered Lace embossing folder. I have die cut various sentiments to add to the panels on the biggest layer of my box. I printed personalised sentiments and die cut them with dies from a nesting set from The Works and Presscut.  I added the unicorn to the centre of the box. This unicorn is a Christmas tree decoration. Tree decorations are a perfect size for these boxes.

The best and cheapest selection of tree decorations are usually available from The Range.
I always try to look for some that can be used for other occasions so I can use them through the year.

I was asked to make a quick card again this morning. I think people are asking because they are not going shopping as much at the moment.

I matt and layered my 8x8inch white card with red, black and spotty card. I added satin ribbon across my card. I mounted my topper onto black card before adding to my card. I die cut the oval with a presscut die from a nesting set and added the sentiment that I cut with a Tonic die.

A Christmas card with Patterned Paper

This creation is for my DT post at craftyhazelnutspatternedpaper.

I have been so bored I have started making Christmas cards. Every year I say I'm going to start making Christmas cards earlier next year. I have actually stuck to my word this year!!

I have covered my 8x8in white card with patterned paper. I have used an image from my stash and attached it to a die cut, cut using a die from The Works. I then attached the image to my card. I die cut the sentiment using a Tonic die and mounted it before attaching to my card. I completed my card with snowflakes that I cut with a punch.
